My New Obsession
Yeah I know it is a trite and contrived title, that has been used hundreds of times elsewhere in these here intertubes, but hey the classics are classic for a reason.
So here it is. My 2008 Mini Cooper S (now a JCW R56 as of 10/11/08). I love this car. It is super fun to drive, gets mad gas mileage and always turns a head or two. I, like many people, have a need to personalize my stuff. Sometimes for practical reasons, other times for reasons of adding to the fun factor and still other times just because. Or sometimes all three.
Beyond the car itself, the Mini is part of an incredible community of likeminded folks. Around the country on prolly just about any day of the year, you will be likely to find a Mini event of some sort. Most events, rallies, meets, track days and wotnot are organized by the community, but Mini USA (and for that matter Mini worldwide) organizes a lot of events. Mini Takes The States, Mini United and ‘Motortober” being are a few of the larger official Mini events. Mini is very active and supportive of the community though and will get behind many more community organized events and contribute schwag to give out during them.
So, here on these pages you will learn about My New Obsession and where I am with it, what I am doing with it and to a lesser extent what I might do to it (because talk is cheap). Wheher you like it, don’t like it, don’t care whatev, please feel free to comment. Just don’t be a hater, if you don’t like something tell me why. Maybe we can both learn something.
